An East Lothian GP has launched her own collection of eco-friendly luxury medical bags, designed for women working in healthcare.
Dr Catherine Fernando, who is based at Orchard Medical Practice in Haddington, is the founder of the IYASU brand, which aims to celebrate
women in medicine, while combing style with functionality and protecting the planet. It was while searching for a work bag of her own that
mum-of-four Catherine became aware that bags were still being designed to satisfy masculine taste. Many of the products she found were based on the traditional“Gladstone bag” which was designed before women were permitted to study medicine.
