Our Vegan & Cruelty-Free Fabrics

We only use 100% vegan and cruelty-free fabrics for our IYASU Medical Bags

IYASU vegan medical bags for female doctors

That’s because we wanted our medical bags to be created from the most eco-friendly materials possible. So we made sure that they are produced ethically without harm to the world, people or animals.

Vegan Leather & Recycled Plastic Lining

To create our IYASU medical bags, we use two vegan and cruelty-free fabrics:

PU (Polyurethane) Leather

The outer bodies of our bags are made of luxury PU Leather. This is a soft, lightweight, flexible, waterproof fabric. And it is an excellent environmentally-friendly alternative to leather.

Even better, unlike PVC leather, PU leather production does not produce harmful toxins or dioxins.

RPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) Lining

The linings of our medical bags are made from recycled plastic bottles. By recycling polyester, we divert plastic bottles from ending up in landfill.

Converting PET into recycled PET uses less water, less energy and emits less CO2 than the production of virgin polyester, thus reducing soil contamination and air and water pollution.

Future Hopes for Vegan and Cruelty-Free fabrics

At IYASU, we are constantly following the advances in bio-engineering of new eco-friendly materials.

When it comes to vegan and cruelty-free fabrics, there are already many options out there – and, judging by current research, plenty more to come.

Innovative vegan leathers using pineapple leaves, apples, grapes and mushrooms are already being produced. None of these options are currently viable for the production of our medical bags.

But we will always be on the lookout for more sustainable, entirely plant-based materials that we can use in the future.
